Today, I had to make a phone call that I didn’t want to make.
“I don’t have any update.”
It was hard and uncomfortable.
So why call?

Because it is usually the right thing to do.
People don’t expect perfection. They just don’t want to be left in the dark.
Silence damages trust more than bad news.
And in my experience, people are more forgiving of bad news than we usually expect.

That said, please don’t expect that call anytime soon.
